“Chicano Art is the portal to our community, our history & identity in an all too familiar global fight”
Especially, today…
We must increase our dialogue and strengthen our bridges across the generations so we never forget and are NOT gentrified and colonialized from existence, ever…again.
Introducing seven artist-activists of the same culture and societal challenges, yet vastly different from one another…just like your classroom.
It’s a gateway to real perspectives
Can one artful documentary do that? Yes!
At each awarded film festival, it was also the questions, discussion and school visits that ignited change, hope and new directions.
What are your call-to-actions?
It can start with a simple, touching, artful documentary of the pains, struggles, successes and revolving door of survival with artist-activists who create with conviction for their communities, not just themselves…
…where it can open a much-needed dialogue that can offer other options and paths to success and, as important, happiness.
It can be above & beyond the status quo and curriculums of the idea we must be a “cog in the machine” in a system with hidden rules and standards not truly meant for most of us…
…and it starts with action and purpose, of course. The commitment to yourself towards a greater, shared good and common truth, thus perhaps a new definition of success & happiness.
“The Muralists’ Beautiful Pain” is your start and spark.
